I was just trying to quickly convey some quick info. I thought it was kind of funny. It had a whole second part but i ran out of time so i scrapped it.

Trotz said that Washington didn't offer him even close to a fair value contract, so that's why he resigned.

How stupid is that.

That would require a sudden change because Dave Tippett was hired about a week ago as a Senior Adviser by "Hockey Partners, LLC", whose President & CEO in Tod Leiweke, is seeking to bring a new NHL franchise to Seattle. Tippett has worked for Leiweke at least the past two years in various means, and could become that team's first ever head coach, among some other hockey option with them if the NHL expands to Seattle.
The one who deserves a shot at coaching the 2018 Cup Champs next season is their own assistant coach in Todd Reirden, who the Caps would not give teams permission to talk to after the prior 2016/17 season. Reirden contributed well to the development of, & modifying better the games of some key players, including Carlson and Niskanen, respectively to name two.
Reirden was first on my list to replace A.V. on the Rangers, had they been allowed to talk to him after the Caps postseason would end, due to that, plus his experience as an NHL assistant coach. That was while the Rangers were waiting either for decisions or being allowed to talk to a few options each at the college & minor league levels. Their search for a developmental type coach resulted in David Quinn of Boston University finally accepting their head coaching offer.

James, who do you think the Yotes will pick?

With the bump in cap, they will keep Carlson, so their goes 7 million roughly, Wilson will command between 3-4 and Kempny will stay on a one year show me deal for about 2-3. It wouldn't surprise me if they kept everybody. However, they could also make a bold move and trade Holtby, which would blow everyone away, and platoon Grubauer and Samsonov. They could get quite the haul from the Islanders in terms of a roster player, one of their firsts and a prospect. If I were them, I would do it.

Relax everyone, it's draft day...not much to talk about.
